Well, it's finally here. After two years of prep work, all done around teaching full time, the app is ready to be taken for a spin. There will inevitably be glitches and screw ups. But there will also be people who have easier lives because of the time that's been invested. I cannot say, how satisfying that thought is. Up until this point, I haven't charged anything for anything really, and I haven't wanted to because I just literally want to help. But app software is not cheap and I can't fund another year by myself, so we have to go big. Well, bigger.
I'm really hopeful it will still come across to people as an absolute bargain. And I hope it will connect people and improve the every day lived experience of English teaching for many. I know this is just so hideously cliche, but I think it will ring true for a lot of teachers. My driving desire is to help lift my pupils out of poverty, and help raise their self-efficacy. That's it, in a nut shell. I believe in 'community and all that nonsense', to my core. As I help you, so I will help them.
I'll try to keep this blog more up to date now as the site is about to get a whole lot busier. Let's get out of the hundreds of users and into the thousands. I complain all the time about things I don't like about work, who doesn't. But may this never be said of me, that I complained and did nothing.
Here is my attempt to do something about it. I need whatever support you can give. Together, we're going to change the quality of provision in a lot of schools and subtly, gently, a lot of lives. It will probably be something I find really hard, but after years of thinking about it and two years of prep work. I'm ready. I'm going to do it anyway.
Let's go!
