Analysis Bookmark

This is the editable bookmark that you could use to teach your classes the range of analysis skills. On one side it has the core ingredients like saying what a quotation shows and analysing individual words. On the back it has a range of other skills that pupils need to  use to start enhancing their analytical ability. You can use it as a writing scaffold and simply get pupils to work through the stages in order, or you could do a lucky dip of what ingredients are we going to experiment with today. The idea is twofold: a) to get more confident writers to start experimenting with skill selection b) to give a physical, tangible tool to enable pupils to remember what it is you're talking about when you're talking about analysis. I also serves as a better aid to internalising the scaffolding than endless boxes. You could put the stages into some of your quizzing to help pupils learn what analysis is.
