How is this better than the training I'll already get through my provider?

It will be subject specific, and it will be delivered by an expert with over a decade's classroom experience. New modules drop every term to make sure you're not overwhelmed. This packs more punch than your PGCE, and it does it for about 1% of the price. It's the rather essential cherry on top.

I'm really busy, will this save me time or just give me more to do?

It will definitely make you a better teacher faster than if you decide to go it alone. Yep, you'll have to invest a little time up front, but that is how all training works. You invest a tiny bit of time now, you relax with your feet in the paddling pool later. Or I guess, to be fair, you can actually do both at the same time now.

I suspect, once you start, you'll find that you're saving time rather than losing it. A lot of people find pgce difficult because they're confused about what they have to do. Take the confusion away, and get your time back.

How do I know this is going to be any good?

If you're worried, download some of the freebies or mini bundles first, log into the app and look at what's in the welcome module. That will help you make a more informed decision. Will it be cheaper to subscribe? or cheaper to buy individual resources from Tes or revision guides from Waterstones or Amazon. Have a look and see what you think.

If you're still unsure, meet your trainer and mentor, and then ask yourself, 'are they good enough to do this and write their own curriculum and create their own training app?' If the answer isn't a resounding yes, then you probably want to be trained by someone who is. Remember, it isn't really an either or. The app doesn't replace them. It helps them feel like they're doing a better job too

Does it include anything I can do now to prepare for PGCE in advance?

Yes, you can get started preparing for PGCE over the summer, so that even before the first official drops in September, you still feel like you're getting your money's worth. It's always satisfying to feel like you can get a head start and walk in on day one feeling like you know vaguely what you're doing.

How is this different to the PGCE program?

The ECT Vault is more tailored towards empowering you to teach Key stage four. You are no longer so limited by just having to do what your mentor wants this year. Now you can branch out and start teaching year 10 or 11 with proficiency right from day one.

In the Vault, you receive codes which give you access to whole schemes of work that you can download as powerpoints and use yourself. Not only that, but there are all sorts of differentiated materials available for you. You're going to be able to run different levels in a mixed set, all at the little click of a print button.

Why is this better than just joining Lit Drive?

Lit Drive is pretty darn cool, and if you're not a member, it is a great idea to check it out. It's huge. I guess it's like TK MAX and English Teacher CPD is more like Boots. It's a bit more clearly organised, and a bit more useful when you're in a pinch. These modules are designed to solve your problems, not leave you with more.

How do I know this is actually going to make my job easier?

Have a look at the resources or the app before you subscribe if you're worried. You'll be able to support your team instead of it always being the other way around.

I can't guarantee for sure that it will make your job easier. It's like all courses, you have to do them for them to work. But I think you will want to do them. Overwhelm and a lack of clarity are the biggest time-sponges in teaching. Once they are dealt with, you will find your job easier.

What if I just want to subscribe for a little bit?

Then subscribe for a little bit. That's totally ok. Test it out. There's no early cancellation fees. New modules drop throughout the year. You'll have paid for the modules you got. Seems fair to us. The dream is that the product is so good, you want to keep subscribing, if it's not that good then we need to make a better product.
